Abu Dhabi Sewerage Services Company (ADSSC) signed an MoU with Uzsuvtaminot JSC to develop a greenfield wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) with capacity of over 1.5 million m3/day on DBOF basis in Surum, Tashkent region, Uzbekistan (the Project). Juru is contracted by the Lead Partner to provide various project development support as elaborated below.

Services provided

  • Review local construction and environmental laws/regulations, the project’s permitting status, requirements of the applicable permits to be obtained before commencement of the performance testing, commissioning and operation phases
  • Advise on general compliance and governance models concerning greenfield urban infrastructure entities, regulatory requirements for sludge produced at WWTPs, river and underground water quality monitoring in the Republic of Uzbekistan
  • Inquire into the Chirchiq river flooding records for two closest points to the WWTP site
  • Assess key E&S impacts and risks during the construction and operation phases, and suitability review of the mitigation included in the ESMS and ESIA, in accordance with local laws and regulations
  • Assist in preparation of the project cost estimates incorporating local variables
  • Perform automatic composite and grab wastewater sampling for two operating WWTP plants with flow data collection and laboratory testing for 24 parameters
  • Perform topographical survey at WWTP site on a scale of 1:1000 identifying all underground and overhead utility systems
  • Conduct geotechnical investigation in accordance with ASTM standards within designated WWTP area. Total 175 m depth boreholes with determination of the ground water levels and soil permeability with further laboratory tests
  • Preliminary topographical survey of 64 geodetic points within Tashkent city for trunk sewer routing
