Project features

The GoU want to structure and tender a PPP transaction (the “Project” or “Phase II”) for the design, financing, construction, O&M of CCGT plant with a capacity of approx. 1,500 MW. Earlier in 2019, the GoU have also signed MoU with another project developer to develop a similar capacity plants (“Phase I”) in the close vicinity of the Projects. The proposed site area for the Projects are located near the existing Syrdarya TPP, which with the capacity of 3,050 MW is the largest power plant in Uzbekistan. Juru is already providing services in the capacity of Technical, Environmental and Social Consultant for the Project. The Client separately contracted Juru to carry out geotechnical investigation and topographic survey for the project site.

Services provided

Juru’s scope covers the following:

Geotechnical investigation as per ASTM standards: 

• 8 boreholes with a depth of up to 35 meters;
• Soil testing by SPT in 8 boreholes, CBR at 3 points, PLT at 4 points, VST at 8 boreholes, PBT at 3 points, CPT at 3 points, SRT at 6 points and piezometric tests. P-S and ReMi;
• Chemical testing of soils (ph, sulphate, chloride);
• Ground – penetrating radar.

Topographical survey: 

• Total area of the site: approximately 80 ha, UTM Zone 37 projection and WGS84 plan datum
• Tying with national coordinate system
• Benchmark set up
• AutoCAD drawings files showing all including road centre line, river, buildings, fence, electric pole, light pole, transmission grid line, structures, services, roads, drains and watercourses etc.
• Contour map drawings, with contour interval of 0.5m but it depends the size of the site.
