ACWA Power
ACWA Power signed an investment agreement with the MoE to design, finance, build and operate 2x500 MW wind farms - Bash WPP and Dzhankeldy WPP. The area of the land plot being considered for the WPP development spans approximately 19 km from north to south and 11 km from east to west. The Client hired Juru to conduct Pre-Feasibility Study for the construction of 2x500 kV OHTLs that enable to evacuate power from wind farms into the grid and enhance the grid hosting capacity between the South-Western and the North-Western networks. Overall scope of work:
- ca. [162.5] km 500 kV transmission line between Karakul 500 kV substation and Bash WPP
- ca. [128.5] km 500 kV transmission line between Bash WPP and Dzhankeldy WPP
- Prelim design & scoping of Karakul 500 kV substation extension
Services provided
- Identify feasible corridors - minimum of three for each line route - based on a preliminary desktop study:
- Review and analyse existing available documents, reports, studies of the involved networks. Single line diagrams of connected substations and etc.;
- Review and analyse IBAT Report for the considered routing areas; perform Proximity Analysis to identify biodiversity features and species, protected areas;
- Conduct GIS-based survey to identify existing facilities along the line route;
- Filter identified options against risks associated with populated areas, environmentally protected zones etc. Propose the option which fulfils the environmental and social criteria and is most technically favourable solution (in terms of construction, materials etc.);
- Site visit along final alternative corridor, including the walkover for determining ecological and social receptors;
- High level estimation of tower quantities for the proposed option, OHL route length with conductor, OPGW and shield wire lengths. Tower weight and foundation volumes will be addressed in the next stages of the project;
- Preparation of Pre-feasibility Study Report;
- Prelim Design & Scoping of Karakul 500 kV substation extension:
- Analysis of the options based on the data collected and finalize the extension SLD options, and scoping of substation extension, electrical layout;
- Secondary equipment – protection & control SLD, telecom arrangement diagram, prelim technical specifications, datasheet and BoQ of protection panels, ECA panels
